ERA has introduced the "Route Book" some years ago, which will replace the current documents - typically produced and distributed by the IM - that outline the train route, schedules, and all relevant train information.

With the latest issuance of the OPE STI (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1693), the data, process, responsibilities, and implementation timelines have been detailed. In particular, the Route Book and its contents must be created and distributed by Railway Undertakings by 2026.

This change, the introduction of the Route Book, likely represents the biggest challenge for Railway Undertakings since the market liberalization began!

At SysCo, we pay close attention to regulatory innovations and, in line with our vision and mission, we have initiated an exciting project aimed at enabling RUs to create and manage their own digital Route Books autonomously and with high quality.
